Easing of Restrictions Update 13.5.20

by jgrey on May 13, 2020

After consultation with various QLD State Government Departments, Clubs QLD and QSport, Bowls Queensland would like to advise clubs the following:

  • The Stage 1 limit of 10 people is for each business premises, which includes both indoor and outdoor spaces, this includes bowling greens. This means if your club decides to open up your restaurant/café for dining, you can only have 10 people in the club dining and no one playing bowls.
  • The stage 1 limit of 10 people applies for the whole venue but excludes staff (i.e. you may have up to 10 patrons plus staff). The venue must continue to meet minimum health requirements including applying the one person per 4 square metres rule which applies to ALL people at a premise (staff and customers included).
  • In relation to the restrictions regarding playing bowls, more information will be released by the QLD Chief Health Officer this Friday. This will include advice for all sports. Bowls QLD recommends clubs wait for this advice before planning the opening of their greens.
  • For clubs looking to open for dining, please find the final draft of the COVID-Safe Checklist for clubs to follow: CLICK HERE .

Please note, the above advice may be different for outback areas of QLD:
