1 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze so far, Queensland’s Joy Foster goes for singles Gold tomorrow Queensland’s Joy Foster has played herself into position to defend her world gold medal singles title for Australia against South Africa,”tomorrow” (Thursday July 18) England time.
On Day 8 of the World Blind Bowls Championships (Wednesday July 17, England time), Joy (Chermside BC) had an excellent win against her opponent from Malaysia, as did Queensland’s Christine Henry (Moorooka BC)
Christine’s win has secured her the bronze medal in the B3 category.
“Australia has just won a silver and two bronze, to add to their Day 7 tally yesterday of one gold and one silver,” national blind bowls coach Graeme Clements said from England.

Tony Scott (VIC) B4 Men’s Singles (Director son Glenn Scott)
“Tony Scott remained undefeated and claimed the Men’s B3Singles Gold Medal with a convincing win in his final round robin match,” Clements said.
“Tony was ably directed by his son Glenn.
“He was dominant in most games and fully deserved his great win!”
SILVER
Sharon Dunk (NSW) and David Goddard (WA) B4 Mixed Pairs
“Sharon Dunk and David Goddard both played exceptionally well in a very tight game against Scotland to capture the B4 World Mixed Pairs Silver Medal, a reward they richly deserved,” Clements said.

Five matches resulting in three wins.
Sharon Dunk won her singles convincingly.
Joy Forster and Ralph Simpson had a good win the B2 pairs but missing the Bronze Medal by shots difference.
The B3 combination of Christine Henry and Tony Scott played in a very high quality game against South Africa eventually winning by one shot.
David Goddard B4 and Wayne Thomson B1 lost their singles, although both played very well.
