Sports Connect

Sports CONNECT is a national initiative by the Australian Sports Commission to connect sport and people with a disability. Bowls Queensland is committed to supporting this initiative, increasing opportunities for people with a disability to participate in the sport of  lawn bowls.

Bowls Queensland has a close working relationship with our Sports CONNECT partners. Our commitment to these working relationships include:

  • Enhancing partnerships with disability service providers;
  • Updating communication and promotion to heighten public/community awareness of opportunities for people with a disability to actively participate in lawn bowls;
  • Support local bowls to cater for bowlers with a disability.

Bowls Queensland has developed a Sports CONNECT Steering Committee to work towards increasing participation of people with a disability. Please feel free to contact our Sports CONNECT partners represented on this committee, who are listed below for further information on what they offer.
