Cracker day ahead for State Triples finals

State Championships men’s and women’s quarter finals start at 8.45am, Friday, 14 May at Tewantin-Noosa Bowls Club. Semi finals and finals to follow. A cracker day of bowls is a certainty tomorrow as some of the state’s best and brightest battle it out for the top spots in the 2015 men’s and women’s triples championships.
The eight quarter-final games will kick off at 8.45am sharp at Tewantin-Noosa Bowls Club before the semis and finals are played later in the afternoon.
Crowd favourites Mark Thatcher, Sean Ingham and Ryan Bester secured a spot in the quarter finals after playing the men’s only post sectional match during the rounds today, defeating Ken Luck, Jack Home and Bob Dobinson 18-8. 
They will play Geoff Jensen, David Pearson and Robbie Creswell in the quarter final.
The other quarter finalist games will be Dave Balchin, Darren Redman, Dave Gardiner vs Steve Halmai, Richard Strawbridge, Kurt Brown; Paul Jopson, Graeme Shillington, Dean McWhinney vs Matt White, Clint Sheldon, Adam White; and Lindsay Ponting, Nigel Smith, Neville Jenkins vs Shane Barton, Braiden Leese, Des Cann.

Like the men’s competition, the women also had one post sectional match to determine one of the quarter final teams.
This saw Debbie Logan, Darilyn Spring and Christine Baxter defeat Fay Whittaker, Joanne Stockdale and Carole McDonald 17-13.  Baxter has drawn Cassandra Millerick, Karen Goldsworthy and Bolivia Millerick in tomorrow’s quarter finals.
The other quarter final women’s games will be Natasha Jones, Charlie Harkness, Lynsey Clarke vs Florence Keft, Maria Rigby, Ester Regan; Liza Burgess, Marilyn Clayton, Louise Witton vs Marissa Larcombe, Faye Clarke, Jane Bush; and Gael Itzstein, Helen Annan, Linda Brack vs Judy Collingwood, Kerrie Wilson, Sue Bond.
