The Australian Womensport & Recreation Association (AWRA) has produced a free online resource for implementing a successful mentoring program. This web module is extremely comprehensive, covering all aspects of mentoring and includes a number of useful templates.
The main topics are:
* an introduction to the concept of mentoring
* mentoring background information and
* the various types of mentoring programs, including the set-up, matching the mentee and the mentor, gender issues, monitoring and evaluation
|
 |
The web module covers the roles of the mentee and the mentor, the types of mentoring programs, such as the formal to the informal, e-mentoring and small group programs, when and why to implement mentoring and the benefits and possible costs.

Weekend Bowler - 2012 Ladies Team Challenge....it's on again
Weekend Bowler is aimed specifically at working women encouraging competition play on weekends when it is more suitable. This began in 2010 with the successful formation of the Ladies Team Challenge.
2012 , will mark the competition’s third year and will be bigger and better than ever! Since the competition’s inception in Oct -Dec 2010, over 400 ladies have participated in the competition.
Such was the success of that pilot season in Brisbane in 2010 , that the competition has expanded to now include teams from Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba/ Downs areas. In 2012 Caboolture and Ipswich area/zones will be open for inclusion.
Teams can consist of players from any Club and nominate under a ‘team’ name. Format is 4 x female players per team each week, split into 2 x teams of pairs (21 ends) , playing on rinks side by side, with aggregate scores over both ‘team’ pairs rinks to decide each match result.
Ladies Team Challenge provides females with a good quality competition, and caters for all levels. The competition is open to all females,( not just workers or students), who wish to compete.
The 2012 competition dates will be each Saturday morning from 13th Oct - 10th Nov , with the weekend of 17/18th Nov 2012 scheduled for Sectional Play-offs & Finals to be played at Pine Rivers Bowls Club. Fixture round games will be played in area zones to reduce travel for participants, wherever possible, dependent on team nominations from relevant zones. Clubs can nominate to be ‘host’ venues for the fixture rounds in their zone , with each host club retaining the green fee revenue generated, just our way of ‘giving back’ to the Clubs who support the event.
If you would like to nominate a team or would like to be included on the mailing list to receive your team nomination form and competition information for the 2012 Ladies Team Challenge competition, please contact: Michelle Russell (Ladies Team Challenge Co-Ordinator) email : lockyer-69@iinet.net.au or 07 3855 8570 or Mobile 0411 652 718
