The Queensland U25 Men have won the series! The Queensland U25 boys have emerged as the sole team in the maroon camp to come home with a Title at the 2013 Test Series.

After day one, they boys had the series wrapped up, and although it wasn’t a clean sweep they dreamed of, they are still ecstatic with the win.

“It feels pretty good (to win), especially with Jay out and having Scotty (DeJongh) come in, he did a brilliant job,” Des Cann said.

“It’s great to bring home a title, it’s the first for the Under 25s in four years.”

The first Test saw the boys take it by just three shots after scores were locked at 1.5 rink wins each, Kurt Brown won his singles game against Matt Miles 25-
21, while Des Cann and Scott DeJongh tied in their Pairs match, while Sam White’s three had a one shot loss.

That afternoon it was a different story with two rink wins to take the Test with both Pairs and Triples winning their games and with it sealing the series.

On day two the team came out firing, but couldn’t make it a clean sweep, with just one rink win from Des Cann’s triples18-9.

In stark contrast to the men, the Under 25 women were going into the third Test knowing they had lost the series, but determined to get one Test win under their belt.

In both Tests they lost by the narrowest of margins, the was 1.5 rink wins just three shots in Test One (53-56) and despite there being just four shots in the second Test, they only had one rink win from singles player Cassandra Millerick.

But it was a different story in the third Test with the players storming home to win all three rinks and take the Test.

Cassandra Millerick said they were happy with their win in the final Test.

“We won three straight last year and we didn’t want to lost three this year, so at least we are going home with oneTest win under our belt,” she said.

Her twin sister, Bolivia was named the Queensland U/25 female player of the series, while Kurt Brown was named as the male player of the series.
