QLD V TAS, Day 3 Aust U-18 Champs

Final round of sectional play, medal chase tomorrow Queensland’s top ten juniors take on Tasmania today in the final round of sectional play on Day 3 of the Australian U-18 Championships at Sorrento Bowling Club in Perth.
Queensland’s boys, Braidan Leese, Brendan Wilson, Nic Gosley, Cohen Litfin and Steven Savage play pairs and triples in this morning’s round while Queensland’s girls, April Wilson, Rikki Lee Kemp, Kali Visentin, Taleah Putney and Connie Leigh Rixon play singles and fours.
The boys and girls switch for the afternoon session starting at 12.30pm Perth time, the boys playing singles and fours, the girls playing pairs and triples.
Bowls Queensland state development manager Brett Murphy is traveling with the junior team as manager.

Player selection and coaching during the tournament is in the capable hands of BQ high performance coach Bill Cornehls and Australian champ Christina Pavlov from Broadbeach.
The Queenslanders didn’t fare well on the first day of play against Victoria but made a steamrolling comeback yesterday against South Australia, on Day 2 of the tournament.
The outcome of today’s final round will determine where Queensland finishes on the ladder and which medals it will play for on finals day tomorrow (Thursday Oct 3).
Pocket rocket April Wilson has already claimed Queensland’s first rubber for the day, winning her Girls Singles match 21-5 and earning herself at least a bronze medal play off spot tomorrow.
