Top juniors gunning for glory

Over 70 of Queensland’s top junior bowlers will compete at the 2014 Junior State Championships Queensland’s 2014 Junior State Championships kick off at Broadbeach Bowls Club this morning, with 70 of the state’s top young bowlers going head-to-head for a chance at glory.
Over five action-packed days, juniors will do battle in Singles (U18 and U15), Pairs, U15 Combined Pairs, Open Triples and Open Fours. 
There is plenty of talent throughout the draw, with a smattering of state and national rep players in the mix as well. 
Among the big names competing on the Coast are Australian under-18 reps Braidan Leese, Taleah Putney and April Wilson. 
Former champs Joel and Josh Andersen are also gunning for glory, while Mitchell Styles, Jesse Turnbull, the Litfin brothers (pictured), Aimee Roberts, Tiffany Murray and Connie-Leigh Rixon are also ones to watch. 
Action kicks off at 9am with Fours sectional play at Broadbeach, followed by Pairs sectionals tomorrow and finals on Monday. 
Play moves to Musgrave Hill on Tuesday for the Open Triples, followed by Singles sectional play at Broadbeach and Musgrave Hill on Wednesday, with the event wrapping up at Musgrave Hill on Thursday with Singles finals.
