Just one day in and already the singles is shaping up as a world-class affair, with some of the biggest names in the business cruising through sectionals and into the knockout rounds.

They aren’t the only big names in the line-up though, with Canadian international Ryan Bester also through, as are Queensland reps Des Cann Jnr, Kurt Brown, Alex Murtagh, Anthony Fantini and Dean McWhinney, while indoor specialist Stephen Halmai is also in the mix.

Singles post-sectionals will be played tomorrow at Mermaid Beach Bowls Club, commencing at 9am.
