Bowls back on the telly!

by admin on November 9, 2014

Eight teams will contest APLO2 ***LIVE*** on Fox Sports over four days next week from Queensland’s Club Pine Rivers, Tuesday November 18 – Friday November 21. The venue and event is spectator-friendly. The Pirates are franchise holders of defending champions, the Brisbane XXXX Gold bowls team of Kelvin Kerkow OAM, Mark Casey, Robbie Wild and Alex Murtagh. There will be unprecedented opportunity to catch all the action of the $110,000 Australian Premier League later this month, with Fox Sports confirming a total of 65 hours of live and replayed APL02 coverage during the four day event.

The second instalment of the revolutionary APL competition will feature 20 hours of live broadcast coverage – five hours each night from November 18 to 21 – with an additional nine replays shown over three Fox Sports channels on the days after, totalling 45 hours of replayed vision.

With the expansion of the competition to include two new franchise teams, the Moama Bowling Club-based Murray Steamers and Club Helensvale-aligned Gold Coast Hawks, live coverage of APL02 has been bolstered for the second instalment; from three matches over four hours each night, to four games televised over five hours.

Fox Sports subscribers will also be provided ample opportunity to catch up on any missed live broadcast action, with each night’s activity shown again the following day in a morning and afternoon time-slot.

APL ambassador Mick Molloy will join the Fox Sports commentary team again this year, lending his unique humour and take on the sport to Thursday’s and Friday’s coverage, while Fox Sports News’ presenter and journalist Tom Chadwick joins the production as a co-anchor to Mark Braybook for APL02.

Live broadcasts will air from 5.00pm to 10.00pm in Brisbane’s AEST time zone from Tuesday, November 18 to Friday, November 21 (6.00pm to 11.00pm in the AEDT time zone listed below).

Free entry and rink-side viewing will be available at Club Pine Rivers for all non-televised morning and afternoon rounds and Fox Sports televised night matches.
