QLD V NSW 2015 test series. End of first test, women up six shots (62-56), men to play catch up in this afternoon’s second test, four shots behind, 46-50. The annual Queensland-New South Wales state of origin test got off to a good start this morning with our women leading the way with a close but exciting 62 to 56 win in the first of three games.
Taking two rinks (26 – 14 and 17 – 16) and losing one (19 – 24), the women hope to cement their lead when they return to the green this afternoon for the second test.
Queensland’s men had a narrow loss, so close – just four shots behind with a score of 46 to their southern rivals’ 50.
The men succeeded in one rink (26 – 14) but trailed 17 – 18 and 8 – 17 on the remaining two rinks.
They will be working extra hard this afternoon to close the gap and hopefully prevail in the second test.
