Harkness, Jones, Ingham lead U25 charge
QLD women claim First Test in annual U25 clash between QLD and NSW. QLD wins Women’s Pairs, and both Fours contests. NSW win both Singles, and Men’s Pairs. At the end of the first test, QLD women lead 6-3, QLD men trail NSW 3-6.
In the glamour Singles, NSW proved too strong, 2015 Silver Nugget winners Jesse Noronha and Sarah Boddington taking the match points.
In Test 2, 8am tomorrow, Natasha Jones and Braidan Leese will play the SINGLES rubbers for QLD.
In the Pairs, Connie-Leigh Rixon and Charlie Harkness controlled the game from the start and saw it through.
Braidan Leese and Sam White saw their heads converted time and again by NSW.
In Test 2 for QLD, Pairs rubbers will be played by Lauren Wilson and Kiani Andersen (s) and Nathan Wilson and Sean Ingham (s))
In the Fours tonight, both Queensland teams had lots of bowls in the heads and always had something to play to, both sides staying strong to the end.
Natasha Jones skipped the winning women’s four and Sean Ingham the winning men’s four.
In Test 2 tomorrow, QLD will be represented in the Fours by Connie-Leigh Rixon, Cass Millerick, Madi Styles, skipped by Charlie Harkness. Men’s four will be Cohen Litfin, Scott De Jongh, Sam White, skipped by Jay Cross.
