It was a big turnaround in Day 2 of the Domina-BCIB District Sides Championships (May 3 – 6) with the women’s ladder looking very different to the end of Day 1, yesterday’s leaders Tropical Far North Queensland dropped to 10th place while Gold Coast Tweed jumped from seventh to first place.

It was a tougher second day for TFNQ who were only able to win one round against Leichhardt (53-48) but lost Rnds 5 and 6 against Bundaberg (43-48) and Downs (58-38), Gold Coast Tweed went from strength to strength winning all three games against Cunningham (68-29), Mackay (62-39) and Burnett (65-23) to put themselves into the lead.

In the men’s competition Gold Coast Tweed “Y” took over the top spot from Day 1 leaders Sunshine Coast after defeating them (87-51) and grabbing two huge wins against TFNQ men (103-36) and Central QLD (106-38), GCT “Y” remain undefeated after six rounds.
