Wet weather doesn’t dampen spirits

by admin on June 13, 2017

Poor weather on the Gold Coast has caused plenty of mayhem in the Australian Open (June 10-23) with play suspended at numerous clubs due to the heavy rain. (Pictured left: Queenslander Natasha Jones toughing it out in the poor weather conditions on the Gold Coast.)

Despite play being suspended in the Australian Open (June 10-23) across many clubs today due to the heavy rain, most of the men’s and women’s pairs sectional rounds were able to be played, with only Tugun, Burleigh Heads, Broadbeach and Mermaid Beach closed.

Due to disruption of play many sectional rounds have been postponed until tomorrow with weather permitting.

Bowls Australia has endeavoured to keep all players updated as they monitor weather conditions across the Gold Coast and continue to get feedback on playing surfaces from the clubs affected by the heavy rain.
