Not bad for a first away showing
Queensland pick up third place on their first crack at the 2017 National Bowling Arm Sides Championship at Moama Bowls Club. The Brolgas put in a great first away effort at this year’s 2017 National Bowling Arm Sides Championship at Moama Bowls Club (Sept 11-13), the Queensland side fell just behind the more experienced NSW and Victorian sides in the leaderboard.
It was the first time the five mainland states have been represented and the Queensland team were able to cause some disruption in their first showing at the national event.
Queensland picked were able to win the majority of their rinks to finish on a respectable total of 49 win points, with the sides receiving two points for a rink win, one for a draw and nothing for a loss.
However, Vitoria was to take the overall glory with an impressive total of 71 win points to hand themselves their fifth successive win in the competition, while New South Wales finished just in front of QLD on 60 points in second place.
