by admin on October 24, 2018

Katelyn Inch and Eric Johannes were this year’s winners of the Champion of Club Champions Singles titles. (Pictured left: Broabeach’s Katelyn Inch who was the winner of this year’s Champion of Club Champions Women’s Singles title.)

The final day of the Champion of Club Champions event came to its conclusion today and in the process decided the two state singles title holders for 2018.

In the men’s competition Paradise Point’s resident former South African international, Eric Johannes, cruised to a comfortable 25-5 victory over Tansey bowler Neil Chauvier.

The bronze medal match proved to be the fan favourite out of the two men’s finals with Oakey’s Ian Groves scraping over the line in sensational fashion with a 25-24 come from behind win against Maroochydore’s Troy Somerville.

In the women’s competition Katelyn Inch (Broadbeach) pulled off to an early lead over Adele Pershouse, the Bagara bowler persevered to close down the gap in the second half of the game but could not find the steam needed to stop Inch from taking the 25-18 win.

Young gun Julia Allen-Best was in fine form in her jostle with Coolum Beach’s Annica McGill and finished with a bronze medal for her efforts in the 25-15 match.
