Call for Expression of Interest

The following document specifies the requirements for selection/qualification for the 2020 MABA National Arm Bowlers Squad to represent the MABA team from Queensland at the 2020 Championships.

Background Information

The National Arm Bowlers Sides Competition will be held In Warnbro, Western Australia in 2020. Warnbro is located 60 km south of Perth. The event will be held over five days. As there is no local accommodation, alternatives are being investigated at Warnbro and Rockingham so a likely travel duration by bus will be up to 30 minutes each way. Travel to Western Australia will be by air, from Brisbane to Perth. Approximate costs per player will be $600 – $1000.

Requirements

If selected in the National Team, you will be required to become a member of the Maroon Arm Bowlers Association (MABA), to wear the MABA uniform (membership $20). The team

will travel together and will be housed as a team. You will be expected to attend training sessions and complete drills as directed by the MABA Coach. Success at nominated competitions and satisfactory completion
of training drills will enhance your chance
of selection. Full details will be released to participants once all EoI are collated after the cut-off date of December, 31 2019. Medical documentation will need to be completed prior to travel. These documents will be in
a sealed envelope and only opened by the managers in case of an emergency.

National Training Team

All persons whom elect to be selected will
be considered by the coach and selectors. The group will be adjusted over the selection period and a training team announced, followed by selection of the National Team consisting of 15 players and two or three reserves. A minimum of two females per state Side is a mandatory regulation under the National Arm Bowlers Conditions of Play.
