Sport & Recreation  COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart program information below:

COVID-19 restrictions are continuing to ease with Stage 2 of the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions now in effect.

We know many Queenslanders have been looking forward to the return of sport and fitness activities, and the further easing of restrictions means sporting fixtures can return and organisations can re-open under COVID-safe guidelines.

To prepare organisations and clubs for the safe restart of activities, a $51.3 million Sport and Recreation COVID SAFE Restart Plan has been established, including:

  • $2,000 per club for up to 7,000 clubs through the COVID SAFE Active Clubs
    Kickstart program
  • up to $150 for 73,000 young participants through FairPlay vouchers. Round 2 voucher expiry dates have also been extended until 11 November 2020 for parents to present to activity providers.
  • facility improvements for up to 3,000 clubs as part of the Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund
  • support for 77 peak bodies through the Active Industry Fund.

Activity providers can apply for $2,000 for equipment, training and operational costs including expenses related to utilities, ground and facility maintenance, safety and sanitation.

Organisations that would like to apply for funding must be registered in the Grant Registration Portal and meet the program’s eligibility criteria.
