Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced this morning (August, 22 2020) that urgent protection measures are in place after an increase of COVID-19 cases were reported in Queensland.

If your club is following a COVID Safe Industry Plan then you can carry on operating as you were, maintaining social distancing with the correct hygiene and safety procedures. We know that many clubs are playing pennants, so to be clear, if your club follows their COVID Safe Industry Plan, then you may carry on playing. This is the directive on August 22, 2020. We will update this article if anything changes.

In Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay, and Redlands, gatherings in people’s homes and outdoors are limited to 10 people.

Everywhere else, gatherings in people’s homes and outdoors are limited to 30 people.

Visits to aged care and disability accommodation services in Greater Brisbane, Ipswich and surrounds will be limited.

Emergency departments will be required to use PPE to treat all patients and hospital visitors will be limited as soon as possible.

Please stay safe: maintain social distancing, keep up good hand hygiene and stay home if you’re sick.
