Dalby Bowls Club Ladies Carnival

The Dalby Bowls Club Ladies Two-day Carnival has been and gone for the year of 2021. With the cancellation of the event in 2020, it was wonderful to see friends from previous years come and test the Dalby Bowls Club greens.

With teams from Bargara, Kawana, Caloundra, Pittsworth, Taroom, Chinchilla, Tara, Dalby, St George and Toowoomba, a wide range of country was covered. From the sea to the inland, ladies met in Dalby to vie for the prizes on offer.

With the help of all sponsors especially Origin Energy and Village on The Downs, there was a $4,000 prize pool that gave out over 10 prize sections, from first overall to fifth place. With all five rounds in the pool, not to forget the team that was just not able to make the green work for them. The Encouragement Award is always a sure way of knowing that “you tried hard” but it just didn’t work.

With Monday weather being the reason we live here in Dalby, Tuesday came in with 60klm winds and freezing cold at that. But regardless of the wind, everyone continued in the spirit of the game and there were many laughs when bowls did not go where they were sent.

Many thanks to Andrew from Origin for making all the presentations.

1st prize was snatched by the Toowoomba team skipped by Jo Worsley.

2nd prize went to North Toowoomba.

3rd prize went to another Toowoomba team skipped by Tracy Foster.

4th prize was accepted by the team from Bargara, skipped by Joy Williams, with a Dalby ring in.

5th prize was taken home by the Toowoomba team skipped by Dell Clark.
