State District Sides Day 2
Six sectional rounds are now complete with the ladders starting to spread out.
The Downs Women continued their form from day 1 and are now the only undefeated team on top of the ladder. Three teams are hot on their heels after recording five wins with Cunningham in second with +92, Tropical Far North QLD in third with +62 and last years Division 1 winners Gold Coast Tweed in fourth with +50 after being defeated by Bundaberg in round 5.
In the Men’s competition Sunshine Coast Alpha and Gateway survived as the only undefeated teams to top the table. Three teams sit one win behind with defending champions Gold Coast Tweed in third with +188 after being defeated by North QLD in round 4, Brisbane sit in fourth with +153 and Bundaberg round out the top five with +92.
The final three sectional rounds will be played tomorrow at host clubs Coolum Beach, Club Maroochy, Club Kawana and Tewantin Noosa. Following the completion of the 9 sectional rounds tomorrow afternoon, each of the 20 Women’s and Men’s teams will be broken up into five divisions of four teams to battle out the Finals Series on Saturday: Division 1 at Coolum Beach; Division 2 at Tewantin Noosa; Division 3 at Club Maroochy; Division 4 at Club Kawana and Division 5 at The Waves Caloundra.
