Aust Sides Day 2, QLD Women Win TAS Series
A good day for the Queenslanders in the Australian Sides Championships in Perth with the women and men’s teams winning both rounds.
In the morning game both teams went out to a good start against Victoria and continued to maintain the pressure to win 5 out of the 6 rinks across the green.
The afternoon game was round 4 of the Australian Sides and also the third and final Test of series between Queensland and Tasmania. Every two years the States do battle in a test series with two tests prior to the start of the Sides and the third Test during the main event.
Congratulations to the Queensland Women who won all three tests to secure their Shield: Test 1: 80-43; Test 2: 70-36; Test 3: 70-46. Well done to the Tasmanian men who won the first two tests to claim the Shield, Queensland bounced back winning their test during the main event, keeping their unbeaten record intact. Test 1: 47-61; 47-54; Test 2: Test 3: 67-49. Congratulations to Lynsey Clarke and Barrie Lester who were awarded the players of the series versus Tasmania.
Tomorrow QLD take on Northern Territory and Western Australia with the final round on Monday morning versus NSW.
