Aust Sides Day 3, Barrie Lester Retires From International Representation

by Bowls QLD

Queensland has had another good day at the Australian Sides Championships in Perth, winning both rounds today against Northern Territory and the home State of Western Australia – both women and men.

Our Women’s Team topped the ladder coming into day 3 and have maintained their position leading into the last round tomorrow, with their fate in their own hands against NSW. A victory will guarantee them the Marg Morris Trophy, a loss and they are relying on results going their way.

In the men’s event, our QLD team are undefeated and sit in second place behind NSW who are also undefeated. Both teams will do battle in the final round tomorrow morning, the winning team will take home the Alley Shield Title.

Current Queensland and former Victorian representative Barrie Lester announced his retirement today from the Australian Jackaroo Squad at the Australian Side Championships. Congratulations to Barrie on a great International Representative career. Read more about his international career HERE.
