QLD Junior Fours Champions Crowned

Congratulations to QLD Under 18 Open Fours Gold Medallists Thomas Brehmer, Trent Brehmer, Todd Brain and Jack Chirgwin who defeated Nic Marinelli, Xavier Parkinson, Corey Marshall and Samuel Collier in the final at the Burnett Bowls Club tonight.

Thomas, Trent, Todd and Jack opened up an early lead of 7-1 after 4 ends before Samuel’s team bounced back to trail by 1 after 9 ends. Jack’s rink then put the foot down to win 6 of the next 7 ends to lead 19-9 with 2 ends to play. With Samuel’s rink only managing to score 1 shot on the second last end, the teams shook hands with Jack’s rink claiming the Gold in a 9 shot victory.

After trailing for the first six ends of the Bronze Medal match, Hayden Flood, Dekota Brindle, Zach Flood and Jack Hayward then took the lead on the eighth end. The four maintained the pressure for the remainder of the game to overcome Keala Nukunuku, Ashton Vardy, Sophie Allan and Stella Palmer to claim Bronze 19 shots to 11.
