Pershouse and Wilkie win 2024 State Champion of Club Champion Singles GOLD!
At Bargara Bowls Club, Bundaberg
Home town favourite Adele Pershouse (Bargara) has won her first Champion of Club Champion Singles title after defeating North Ipswich’s Vicki Cameron 25-17 in a quality final.
Pershouse opened up a couple of small leads during the game before Cameron answered the challenge: 5-1 to 5 all and 15 – 8 to 15 all. Cameron then took the lead of the first time in the game at 16-15 before Pershouse regained the lead and pulled away to claim the title 25-17. Much to the delight of her home crowd at Bargara.
Wendy Wilson from Northern Suburbs defeated Broadbeach’s Bolivia Millerick 25-16 to claim the Bronze Medal.
In the Men’s Final Club Helensvale’s Brett Wilkie won a war of attrition over previous winner Glen Pitts from Algester 25-20. The pair traded blows and the lead a number of times throughout the game with Wilkie sneaking away at the end to claim the title.
In the Bronze Medal match Pialba’s Mark Armstrong defeated Robert Spence from Souths Suburban 25-21.
Both Pershouse and Wilkie now advance to the National Champion of Club Champion Singles in Tasmania during November 2025.
