Tannum Sands Go Back-to-Back at QLD Secondary Schools Cup

by brett

Tannum Sands State High School’s Braeden Andrews and Jacob Hoger have successfully defended their title, going back-to-back at the 2025 QLD Secondary Schools Cup held at Club Pine Rivers.

After day one, the duo sat in second place on the ladder behind the undefeated Tallawong State High pairing of Max and Rihanna Latham. However, Andrews and Hoger produced a flawless performance on day two, winning all four of their matches to surge into top spot, as the Tallawong pair slipped to three defeats.

Millmerran State High’s Claire Kirby and Mia Scurr also impressed, climbing from third after day one to secure the runner-up position with 12 points. They edged out St Joseph’s Nudgee College, Tallawong, Moreton Anglican College and Glass House Christian College, who all finished level on 12 points but fell short on margin.

Thank you to Club Pine Rivers for hosting and sponsoring this event, all the Schools/teachers, Clubs/Districts/coaches/volunteers, BA Club Support Mangers and parents for supporting the players to get to the State Finals and coordinating the local competitions.

Well done to the BQ Staff/Match Committee for running the event and Bowls Coast Tweed Media Team for quality live streaming.
