Bowls Queensland Appoints New CEO
Bowls Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Fletcher Dyson as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing Monday 12th January 2026.
Fletcher brings extensive executive leadership experience across sport, healthcare and commercial sectors, with a proven track record in driving sustainable growth, strengthening governance and leading high-performing teams. His appointment marks an exciting next chapter for Bowls Queensland as the organisation continues to build overall participation, develop representative team success, strengthen club support and grow the sports exposure points across the state.
Most recently, Fletcher served as CEO and Director of Medi Solutions Australia, a Brisbane-based orthopaedic distribution business he founded and grew to achieve multimillion-dollar annual turnover. Across nearly a decade in the role, he led all aspects of strategy, financial performance, commercial partnerships, and people leadership, successfully scaling the business while maintaining strong operational discipline.
Fletcher’s background in sport administration is equally significant. He has held senior commercial and sales leadership roles with both Queensland Rugby Union and Victorian Rugby Union, securing major sponsorship agreements, growing commercial portfolios and leading strategic planning and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Earlier in his career, he was a professional rugby player, representing the Australian Wallabies, Queensland Reds and NSW Waratahs, an experience that continues to shape his leadership style and understanding of high-performance environments.
Speaking on his appointment, Fletcher said he was honoured to lead Bowls Queensland at a pivotal time for the sport.
“I am deeply honoured by the opportunity to lead Bowls Queensland and grateful to the Board for their confidence in me. I want to acknowledge Brett Wilkie for his outstanding leadership and the significant impact he continues to have across the bowls community. Bowls has a proud history and an exciting future. I look forward to the journey ahead working together with our members, clubs, staff and partners to build on the strong foundations already in place.”
Bowls Queensland Board of Directors & President Brian Marshall welcomes the appointment.
“Fletcher brings a rare combination of commercial acumen, governance experience, and a deep understanding of sport at both grassroots and elite levels. The Board is confident he is the right person to lead Bowls Queensland into its next phase of growth and connection with members, clubs and partners.”
