2026 Queensland Representative Squads Announced

by bwilson on April 2, 2026

Bowls Queensland is proud to officially announce the 2026 Queensland Representative Squads, recognising a talented group of athletes who have demonstrated outstanding performance, consistency, and commitment to the sport over the past 3 years.

Selection into a Queensland squad is a significant achievement and reflects the high standard of bowls being played across the state. Each selected athlete has earned their place through strong performances at state and national level events, as well as their ongoing contribution to their clubs and the broader bowls community.

Strengthening the Selection Process

In 2026, Bowls Queensland introduced an enhanced Expression of Interest (EOI) process, delivered through BowlsLink. This approach has enabled greater reach across the state, ensuring more players than ever before had the opportunity to nominate for representative consideration.

By leveraging BowlsLink, the selection process has been strengthened through improved accuracy of player information, streamlined communication, and a more transparent and consistent approach to identifying eligible athletes. This ensures selectors are working with the most up-to-date and reliable data when forming squads, ultimately supporting fair and informed decision-making.

These improvements form part of Bowls Queensland’s ongoing commitment to modernising its systems and creating clearer, more accessible pathways for players aspiring to represent the state.

Pathway to State Representation

These squads form the foundation of Queensland’s high-performance program and will play a key role in representing the state on some of the sport’s biggest stages in 2026.

Selected squad members will be eligible for selection in key interstate and national events, including:

  • QLD vs NSW Test Series – 21–23 July 2026 at Cabra Bowls Club, NSW
  • The Nationals – October 2026 in Perth, WA

These events provide an important opportunity for Queensland’s best to test themselves against elite competition from across the country, while continuing to build the state’s strong reputation on the national stage.

Next Steps

As part of the next phase of the selection process, trial teams will be announced in the coming week, with players invited to attend a Representative Trial Camp scheduled for 30–31 May 2026. The venue for this camp will be confirmed shortly, with further details to be provided to selected athletes.

Bowls Queensland congratulates all players named in the 2026 Representative Squads. Your dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport have been recognised, and we look forward to seeing you represent Queensland with pride throughout the year ahead.
