2026 Junior State Championships

The 2026 Queensland Junior State Championships will be held April 12 – 18, 2026 in the Moreton Bay Region, bringing the state’s most promising young bowlers together for one of the premier events on the junior calendar.

The championships will be hosted at Scarborough Bowls Club, in conjunction with Bramble Bay Bowls Club and Brighton Bowls Club, showcasing the strength of bowls across the region and providing a high-quality platform for emerging talent.

Following strong feedback from participants and stakeholders in 2025, this year’s event will feature an expanded program of categories to provide greater opportunities for participation and development. The 2026 disciplines include:

Redcliffe & Surrounds: A Coastal Escape

Dive into the Coastal Charm

History, Hikes, and Heritage

• Morning: Kickstart with a beachside brekkie at Nerosso Café (opens 5:30am) before heading to the Redcliffe Museum for a fascinating dive into the area’s history.

• Mid-Morning: Explore Bee Gees Way, a tribute to the famous Gibb brothers, and walk the Redcliffe foreshore with the tunes of yesteryear in your ears.

• Lunch: Enjoy a relaxed lunch at The Rustic Olive, an Italian restaurant with a waterfront view.

• Afternoon: Take a short drive to Woody Point and walk the HMQS Gayundah Shipwreck trail for a mix of history and scenic beauty.

• Dinner: Go grand at The Belvedere, a landmark pub in Woody Point since 1901. This westward-facing restaurant offers incredible sunset views over the bay. You can choose from five different bars and dining areas including indoor and outdoor spaces to take a seat and enjoy some fresh local seafood with an icy cold beer, wine or cocktail in hand.
