The Bowls Queensland High Performance Squads recognises and brings together the state’s leading athletes who have demonstrated sustained excellence on the greens. Selection into the program is based on performances across the past three years in Bowls Australia and Bowls Queensland affiliated events, as well as other high level tournaments. These results identify players who are consistently performing at an elite standard and capable of representing Queensland in major interstate and national competitions.
Selected players are grouped into six key categories across both male and female squads, reflecting the different representative pathways within the sport. These groups include Under 18, Under 25, Open, 40–59, Para, and Seniors. Each squad represents the high performing athletes within their division and forms the basis of Queensland’s representative teams at interstate and national level events.
Throughout the year, the High Performance Team prepares players for significant representative opportunities including the Under 18 Tri-Series, NSW Test Matches, and the National Sides Championships. These events provide Queensland’s top athletes with the opportunity to compete against the best players from across the country while proudly representing the maroon colours of their state.
