On behalf of Sunshine Coast Council, it is my pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to all participants and supporters to this year’s Qld State District Sides and State Lawn Bowls Championships.
Bowls has a rich history on the Sunshine Coast, fostering friendships, creating unforgettable moments and producing some of the sport’s finest champions. Since 1930s, bowls clubs have been a cornerstone of our community, bringing together people from all walks of life and, along with other sporting clubs, contributing significantly to our vibrant tourism industry.
While you’re here we invite you to explore the stunning hinterland, pristine beaches and a variety of attractions that our beautiful region has to offer. Enjoy shopping and our many local markets and discover the endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation.
The Sunshine Coast’s unique location within a UNESCO Biosphere corridor makes it a true gem. Known as Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry, our region boasts an abundance of local produce, beverages and fine cuisines that are sure to delight your tastebuds.
Autumn weather provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration of bowls, filled with great competition and friendship.
Best of luck to all participants and may your time here be enjoyable and rewarding.
For those participating in our Sunshine Coast Winter Bowls Carnival in July, we look forward to your return.
With best regards,
Councillor Joe Natoli
