Australian Senior Sides Round 6 Update

by Bowls QLD

Australian Senior Sides – Two good wins to our women’s team at Club Tweed today (Monday 14 October) moves them into second on the ladder. They sit equal on wins with first placed Victoria, with 2.5 rink points separating the two teams. A win over NSW in the last round will guarantee at least a silver, VIC play NT in round 7.

The rink of Cheryl Heaps, Heather Hodgson, Sue Brady & Julie Keegan currently lead the best performed rink ladder and a win on their rink this in the last round should see them take home this award.

A loss to our men’s team against ladder leaders South Australia has dropped them to third on the ladder. NSW sit in second with our team set to challenge them in the final round tomorrow morning. A win will guarantee them at least a silver and then will need to rely on results of top placed SA who play TAS.

The rink of Keith Whalley, Jim Wise, Alan Howard & Greg Rolls sit second on the best performed rink ladder behind a NSW rink. Finders crossed for the results to go their way in the last round. Go Queensland!!

Tomorrow’s draw at Club Tweed (NSW Time): 8:30am Rd 7 (final round) vs NSW.

Today’s Results:

Women: Rd 5 QLD 75 def NT 33; Rd 6 QLD 72 def SA 46.
