Blind Bowlers

Queensland Blind Bowlers Association

The Queensland Blind Bowlers’ Association provides opportunities for competition and recreation for people who are blind or have a severe vision impairment through participation in the sport of lawn bowls.

The QBBA caters for players from beginners to international representatives, all of whom are assisted by a dedicated band of volunteers and directors.

Players have the opportunity to participate in the annual Bowls Queensland’s Multi-Disability State Championships. The most successful players may then compete at the Australian Open.

The QBBA also selects a team to compete in the annual National Championships conducted by the Australian Blind Bowlers’ Association.  ABBA selects players to represent Australia at international events.

The QBBA meets on most Monday mornings at the Geebung Bowls Club at 21 Thompson Street, Geebung.  The club is easily accessible by train and bus services.  Morning tea is at 9.00am, and play commences at 9.30.

Anyone interested in joining the QBBA, either as a player or as a volunteer director, can contact our Secretary by email at qldblindbowlers@gmail.com.
