Bowls Queensland have teamed up with Taylor Bowls, Phil Keats and Graeme Hooper to create a new statewide inter club competition called the Taylor Bowls State Challenge.

This new competition will feature four tiers all playing for a State Title, catering for different levels of competition and open to clubs affiliated with Bowls Queensland to enter.

Featuring pairs, triples and fours disciplines, the open gender competition will start in some parts of Queensland in the latter part of this year. For Southeast Queensland, the competition will be run during February and March next year. Winners from sectional play will advance to post sectional rounds followed by a final’s series at the end of March.

Taylor Bowls are on board as the naming rights sponsor, Managing Director Grant Heron is excited to be involved in this new competition “Taylor Bowls are proud to be associated with the Taylor Bowls State Challenge, championing excellence in the sport. As a brand committed to innovations and performance, we are thrilled to be part of an event that showcases the best talent in the state”, he said.

Village Motors at North Lakes have supplied the use of a brand-new GWM Haval Hybrid motor vehicle which will be used to help promote the competition. Phil Keats and Graeme Hooper will travel throughout various parts of Queensland to talk with districts and clubs to promote the new concept. More information will be sent to districts and clubs in the future.
